A traditional weaver’s cottage & grade II listed building. Its spacious with high ceilings, spread over 3 floors. There is exposed stone, brick and rustic beams everywhere.

“Cottage Pie” was built in 1790 as a working family home servicing the mills of Holmfirth. The traditional “cottage pie” as we know it was also created in 1790 when the potato started to be regarded as a sustainable and affordable meal source. A perfect name for the most charming cottage, we hope you agree.

I’m so glad I found this place. Spent the best three nights here. Gina is such an amazing host. There literally is nothing more that we could’ve wanted for. Perfectly presented, quaint and cosy. Beds extremely comfortable and the whole place smells gorgeous! As soon as you step foot in Cottage Pie you know it’ll be very hard to leave. Every detail is well considered and much appreciated. Wonderful place to stay in Holmfirth. The best Cottage Pie in the world! I can’t wait to return 🙂

Just had one of the most chilled out, long weekend stay at Cottage Pie. What a beautiful decorated & homely cottage. Our host Gina has thought of everything, right down to the most comfortable beds. Plus the added bonus of a bottle of red & chocolates, for my husband’s 50th. It was a lovely touch. The centre of Holmfirth is a 10 minute walk from the Cottage. It’s 2 minutes in a car, with plenty of parking around. We highly recommend a tapas bar called Nowhere. A lovely cheese shop, with a cafe inside. We will definitely be going back to Cottage Pie. We all fell in love with it. ❤️ from Gary, Sam, Halle & Finley.

Comfortable cottage with historic feel, exceptionally clean. Short walk to Holmfirth which has a good and interesting range of independent cafés, bars and restaurants. Unity Yard and café is a few minutes away and well worth a visit.

Perfectly beautiful cottage with everything you need and thoughtful little touches 😊 Lovely and warm when we arrived on a very chilly day and with plenty of logs supplied for the log burner. Perfect location for lots of walks either a short drive away or straight from the cottage. Lots of places to eat and drink in Holmfirth and 2 supermarkets close by. We've been before, we've been this time and we'll be back again!

Cottage Pie is an absolute gem. It has been decorated beautifully, full of charming and interesting period items. Lovely soft furnishings and lovely comfy beds. It’s super cosy and warm and just a delight for the senses. Gina is an excellent host and we really appreciated all the lovely little touches she had made as well as being very helpful with any queries. The Cottage is just a 10 to 15 minute walk into the centre of town and Holmfirth is full of great shops, bars, restaurants, etc. I have no hesitation in recommending this place, it’s fabulous.

This is an exceptional cottage. The furnishings are both original and lovely, and the level and quality of other equipment cannot be faulted. A more than generous level of supplies in the kitchen, and fabulous wood burner with wood store outside. Cannot recommend more highly, please don't book it when I next need it!

Just returned from a fabulous stay at Cottage Pie in Holmfirth. This wonderful cottage is beautifully decorated and contains everything you need for your stay including a well stocked welcome basket, toiletries, and even fresh flowers in every room. Gina, the host, is brilliant, on hand for any questions and makes sure you have everything you need for an enjoyable stay. The best cottage we have stayed in by far, thank you for having us 😊

Had absolutely wonderful stay at the cottage pie, the property were quirky to say the least, stunning, clean, and homely fully equipped with everything you would need, special touches left by the hosts like fresh flowers, ice creams, biscuits every coffee you could think of... I really didnt want to leave.. its a definite must to stay, dont over think it... just book it... you won't be disappointed

This really is more than a 5 out of 5! We booked late, looking for a quiet cottage to stay for the weekend, we wanted somewhere to relax within a short walking distance to Holmfirth. This cottage delivered all of that and more. The cottage is very well equipped and we loved the decor - always something new to see, the eco friendly ethos had definitely changed my opinions too. The best owner too - Gina is great x We will definitely visit again. ❤️

This was our second stay in Cottage Pie, and wow what can you say ! It’s an absolute stunning place to stay, the cottage and decor along with the attention to detail are second to none, it’s apparent that Gina the owner puts her heart and sole into this lovely cottage. Only a short walk from Holmfirth itself so ideal for exploring the local area and walks. If you want a beautiful stunning cottage in the Holmfirth or surrounding area this is definitely the cottage to book.

We had a wonderful stay at cottage pie. The cottage has a fully stocked kitchen that has all you could ever need. There are snuggly blankets and cushions a plenty and complimentary treats to make you feel at home. It's location is ideal for a stroll Into holmfirth to visit the lovely shops, bars and restaurants . The real charm of this place has to be seen to be believed though. The original features and small touches the owners have put into it are stunning. We didn't want to leave and will certainly be back. Cottage pie is a magical place that has a little piece of my heart.

We loved our stay at Cottage Pie. The cottage boasts some gorgeous period features which gives the place a wonderful atmosphere.The cottage is sympathetically decorated with period furniture and the bright, bold colours on the walls add a more contemporary touch. So very well executed. Gina is obviously a host that cares, and this comes across in the communication, the extra touches, and how immaculately clean the cottage is. This is one very special holiday let.

WOW...this is a home from home experience (and better!) When I saw the 10/10 rating, I was excited. However, when we arrived we were astounded! The cottage is divine and far exceeded our expectations! It smells gorgeous, looks gorgeous and feels so special! All the added touches (sweets, real flowers, burners, candles, coffee pods, treats etc!) made it super special and very personal. I LOVE THIS COTTAGE and will return! NOTHING has been missed 🙂 I would highly recommend as I still miss it now a week on! I actually had a tear in my eye when we left! Gina is a very special lady and a very special host! Her communication and attention to detail is 10/10. A gem (both Gina and Cottage Pie!) A very special place and experience. Thank you x

If you’ve read the other reviews here for Cottage Pie, you’ll already have set your expectations. Let me tell you, if you book a stay here…. prepare for them to be massively exceeded. We were blown away with this hidden gem, just a short walk into the small town of Holmfirth. Gina was an incredible host and our three day stay went by so quickly that we genuinely wish that we’d booked a week. Thank you Gina…. We absolutely loved it. R&M

We stayed at Cottage Pie for three nights and it was perfect. On arrival, the cottage smelled lovely, it was warm and cosy. The place is decorated to a high standard and has interesting art in every corner. Little touches like coffee pods, fresh flowers and biscuits were great. We easily walked into town most days where there are plenty of pubs, independent shops, coffee places and restaurants. Surrounding area perfect for walks too. Overall this is the perfect ‘cosy cottage stay’ and we’d highly recommend. Gina the host was brilliant and always quick to respond with advice and making sure we had everything we needed to - thank you! X
